Jon "The Bomb" Phenom Rank #1 Rookies (5-0-0) 9(9) Bio Weight: 121/114 pounds Next Bout: title fight vs the 5 feet 7 inches, Snake Killer (9-4-0 1/3) from the Foo Tamiliar gym for $103,680 on Tuesday, June 12. Fight Plan: Slugger vs Counter-Puncher updated Tuesday, May 29. Training: weights (STR) Options: Talk Trash | Change Weight Division | Change Description | Retire - May be fighting at a disadvantage due to weight. He might want to change weight division.
I'm not worried at all. I knocked him out in the 8th round last month. Since then his gym has gone 7-4-1 3/1. My guys hasn't had a fight in a couple weeks so he hasn't had a chnace to get that pound back he lost from training for his last fight, but that green star is as good as mine. I don't mean to sound thingyy, and if I lose I'll take the berating, it's just been really frustrating lately trying to beat sluggers and cpers, the guys that pop up when I have a big fight.

Good luck. Just make sure to scout him and prepare accordingly.

Good job. I just took a look at the matchup, and my only advice is to take cheats out of your fight plan (if you have any).

I never cheat, and my scouting was done last month when I knocked him out ;p Thanks.

Him trying to power slap me=wore himself out+my fighter pounding his gut=10th round KO ;p
Should have at least two more in a month. I'll post those too if you guys are interested.

Congrats Ring of Sting. I remember getting my green star and how good it felt.

Thanks again Quay. My rookie gym is ok, but yours was immeasurable in comparison. To achieve a fraction of what you did would be fine with me...And I did, 1/12 ;p (that record and the money brought in though, whoosh, way over my head).

Bah, Quay in Rookies, makes me have nightmares.
A 9/9 Fighter received a title shot in Rookies? I managed to get one at 12/12 once but I do not believe I have ever seen a single digit rank/status get a title shot.
Enjoy Rookies, it gets worse as you come out of there. But I also remember getting my green star, it felt wonderful and I was glad to actually see something beside my name in the forums.

Thanks guys, and Chico, very impressive Rookie numbers also. As did you Evolve, hopefully I can get that tenth title before my 500th win (on pace for them to happen right around the same time). And yes, it's nice to see something beside my name for the effort I have put in, though my fighters did most of the work ;p

Dude, they don't notice the 500 fight limit unless you do like I did and open your big mouth. Someone said on the forums they retire you in Rookies after 500 fights and my dumb ass said 'I have over 500 and I am still in rookies."
I would have gotten it because I had an 18/18 champion who had like four title wins.
To me it seems the rookie division has thinned down some, especially in numbers. Quay and I came out of the same rookie class along with Offord's House of Pain, Pride n Punishment, and a host of other solid gyms, ones that have done well since leaving rookies.
Which is not to say that the rookie competition still isn't fierce, but when I look over the titles I see almost a different gym in each division holding the title, when Quay was there his crazy ass had several of the titles himself.
By the way Quay, tell Smalls I will forever be peeved at him for turning me down for The Brotherhood and then turning around and taking in new Rookie gyms.
Smells like Bullnuts.

Bullnuts?
Apparently the forum censors things.
I typed Bulls.h.i.t.
Smells like Bullsnuts sounds like I participate in bestiality.

I found avoiding being stuck in rankings to be the hardest part of winning rookie titles. I had to constantly jump weight divisions just to get enough fights to move up in status. There always seemed to be one fighter in the division at 17(17) or something who just refused to retire while everyone else was at 9(9) or below. That will probably be your biggest challenge to winning 10 titles.

I really enjoyed my time in rookies, i learnt loads during my time there and like Evolve said there was several solid gyms and we had some good tough fights. I was proud also to get a champion who was unbeaten with a 11-0-0 record, would have had 2 but got retired before he got his title fight.
Evolve, when i applied to be part of the Brotherhood i think you and Senpuu Gakuen had already applied and when i got no reply i took that as a no, i left it for awhile, then as i was thinking about applying for a different clan i got a message from Smalls asking if i was still interested.
Chico, i had the same problem with having to swap weights most weeks to get fights and it used to really annoy me when other managers would just leave their fighters sitting 5 status point or so above every other fighter.

Thanks for the info guys, I have noticed the things you're talking about. Most of my fighters are ranked in the top 10, but because of the lack of fighters (competition it could be called) and the usually wide differentials in status, some of them are being forced to sit out for weeks at a time (one of my Sunday fight guys is finally fighting after what I think was a three week layoff, and my other Sunday guy doesn't have a fight). It makes it really hard to come back from a loss when you don't fight for a couple weeks. Thanks for everything though, I'm looking forward to picking up a few more titles, and don't worry Evolve, I won't open my mouth about wins and titles ;p

I have to jump around in Graduated as well to get fights. The bad thing about rookies is that high rank/status people cannot retire because they cannot get their fighters back.

Yeah, a rule that is quite regrettable.
